Inspiration Sunday : Sheer Fancy

So I reckon I'm going to start this segment on my blog,
an inspiration recap of the week on music/fashion/photog etc every Sunday.
This week I'll start out with the fascinating new collection (one of many)
Dark Noveau from Topshop this F/W 2010-2011.
Filled with nude sheer material and contrasting tough leatherette pieces,
this collection is purgatory at its best.
Also, we can expect sheers coming back into fashion (which is great, cause
it will be spring summer soon here in upside down land) and of course,
leather, cause we all know it never goes out of season. :]

Okay, so I've blown my montly internet capacity from watching too many TV shows online...
(FINISHED all 4 seasons of Dexter!!!! hohohoho.)
So yes.. no massive photo-post from me today.

Emi, Jessi and I were walking into Newmarket today when Emi's like "Before I was born, everyone expected me to be a boy and I was about to become a Jack." Which got us all thinking -
What would we be like if we were guys?
Emi thinks that he(JACK) would be a flambouyant gay guy who calls himself JayJay or Jackie - though we beg to differ. Em/Jack would be too straight to be gay! Though, I must say, the thought of having a gay friend is very tempting. THINK OF ALL THE BITCHING&SHOPPING WE COULD BE DOING! -I envision every gay guy to be Marc off Ugly Betty though, so don't mind me.
And Jessi says if she were a boy, she'd be the cool nerd - like she'd fit in with cool people, but all she'd (HE'D??!!) want to be doing is sitting at home and playing games. Sound like marbert? haha.
I couldn't come up with anything for the masculine version of myself, save Asian nerd. lol. how creative. But Emi and Jessi think I'd be a cool Asian street dancer, much into The Jabbawockees and The Poreotics( EEEEEEEEEE :] ) and that I'd date Rachel Soh and "do those weird funky cool things with my hands" (Jessi tries to demonstrate, flaps arms around, lol.) Hem Hem, It's called tutting, Jessi. BUT UM!! Does this not sound like someone we already know (okay, minus the dating Rach part, cause that would be bizarre...), JAE WU! Yes, I'd rather like to be like him, actually.
As for Annie, that was easy, haha. She'd be the mama's boy who'd help make dinner everynight and still kisses his mum goodnight - but has a deep dark secret and a rebellious side.
Peaty, well uh, she'd just... ... still be Peaty. HOHOHO. Oh she's funny.
But yeah, my fake life is so much more exciting than my current one. Gladly swap please.

NZ fashion week is in about a month!
Its not nearly as big as any other international fashion week,
but hey, NZ designers have their charm.
Though I'm not going to see any shows, I'm excited to hear about
local designers' collections for next year's F/W!
Got high hopes for a BEAUTIFUL show from Sera Lily,
and nothing less than spectacular from Stolen Girlfriends.
Nearly forgot about Karen Walker!
Not a big fan, but I'll give her some props,
she always manages to make some of the best collections around.
AND. THE. BEST. SUNGLASSES.
ASDFGHJKL; WANT... NEED!
Also wish Sass&Bide was local. SIGH.

So, how many mews?

I'm sorry, what? No social life until exams?
Didn't come out of my mouth.
Had the best time opshopping, flipping through fashion magazines,
catching up with Arna today!
Just realised that I never knew how much I missed the good times we used to have.
I just think its funny how with some people, you just feel so judged and misunderstood,
and then there's people that you just happen to be COMPLETELY in sync with, and oh its an amazing feeling.
(our "MIUMIU!" and "OHMYGOSH. I've never touched an Alexander Wang before!" moments.)
You're as odd as I am, Arna! :)

First of all, some eye candy:

To this day, Miu Miu S/S 2010 collection is imprinted in my mind,
I can't stop thinking about it, can't stop wanting every piece in the collection.
I can't put my finger on why it's just so perfect -
perhaps its the cohesiveness of the entire collection,
perhaps the fact that we learn not to be shy with wearing more than one print,
perhaps its the way it's so different from every other collection we've seen,
Oh it's sheer magic.

In the more recent F/W collection :
Miuccia's genius is apparent once again, and is present within the cohesiveness
of the collection.

Consisting of structured, simple, block coloured wool dresses
with matching floral embellishments, this collection takes the prize.
(May be a little biased that black orange and purple are my more favoured colours. haha)
Extremely wearable and versatile, winter is bound to be a fashionable one!
Also, THOSE dresses (far right, top picture) are the shift dresses of the season;
so coveted that THREE different magazines put them on their covers!

Hey all.
So, sorry for being such a bad blogger
and being MIA for so long...
GAAARR. School is honestly like a full time
job, requiring the 9-5 (more like 7-5) hours,
and then when you get home you're just so tired and sick
of school that all you want to do is fall asleep,
but you can't cause you have so much to do.
So YEP. This is my life.
And here's where I let all that frustration out...

And it's been advised that we have no social life
until its over, which is fair enough..
though smack bang in the middle of exams is
Halloween in which my awesome cohort hold our annual

30 seconds to mars came to school today!
I could have sworn there were four members,
but hey. sure. Three's just as nice.
So they only came for a press conference,
and not to perform or anything.

And you know how much I love my individual, isolated,

And yes, not many exciting photos, cause they were just sitting
